 
Scott Taylor Salon is owned and operated by Scott Taylor. He relocated to Nashville from southern
California after an extensive career in the hair business. One of his first jobs was in the trendy
salon of Jon Peters, hair guru to the stars and now a major film producer. This was Taylor's
introduction to working with celebrities, in which he gained an understanding of special hair care
needs. A second mentor was Paul Mitchell who shared his hands-on secrets of professional styling.
To broaden his expertise, Taylor spent time in London, Amsterdam and Brussels perfecting the
techniques that have become his hallmarks of hair design in the United States.
ABC Television became aware of Taylor's work and arranged for him to style Diane Sawyer's hair for
"Prime Time Live." This led to jobs on "General Hospital," "Good Morning America," "Live with Regis
and Kathie Lee," and other national shows. He was then drafted by CBS for "The Young and the Restless."
Taylor was the key hairdresser for the 1991, 1992, and 1993 Academy Awards. His talent helped garner
him national recognition and a prestigious Emmy, and it led to the opportunity to work as Barbara Walters'
Los Angeles hairdresser. During this time, Taylor developed the Scott Taylor Systems Hollywood (his
own line of hair care), which was offered on both the Home Shopping Network and Shop at Home.
In addition, Scott Taylor has been seen on many television shows performing his fabulous makeover magic.
Those shows include: "Vicki! The Vicki Lawrence Show," "Leeza," and "Mike & Matty." Since moving to
Nashville, he has appeared on "Talk of the Town," "AM Nashville," "Crook & Chase," and "The Scene at
Noon." He was also the official hairdresser for the news anchors at Fox 17. In addition to all of his
television and celebrity work, Taylor has successfully maintained a thriving career in the salon
business for over 25 years. He now lives in west Nashville with his wife and four children.
